Kat Von D Is Recording An Album

She’s a tattoo artist and reality TV star, has a clothing line, makeup line and perfume, and now Kat von D is trying her hand as a recording artist.

Fresh off yet another breakup with on-again off-again fiancé Jesse James, the 29-year-old LA Ink star and High Voltage tattoo shop owner is venturing into the world of music.

"I've been passionate about music all my life,” Kat told E! News!. “I've been playing classical piano since I was six. So I understand the form, but it will be fun to be able to translate a message.”

What, you didn’t know she could sing?

Neither did we. And we really hope she can and doesn’t produce some auto-tuned disaster, because the odds of someone being both an amazing tattoo artist and an amazing singer is not very likely. But, nonetheless, we’re pulling for her because we like her work…and we like hairless cats too.

"I think it's much like tattooing or the TV show or make-up, my clothing line, fashion,” Kat continued. “All those things, they're just different outlets to be able to be creative. So music, I think it's going to be one of those things."

Kat says her influences include The Cure and AC/DC. Her TLC show LA Ink will end after its current season.

"The network is proud of what the series has accomplished in its four seasons, following Kat Von D's journey as an artist from Miami to Los Angeles," TLC had said regarding the show, after announcing the network had canceled it.

But Kat took to her Twitter account to deny the show was canceled, and that the decision to end the show this season was hers, and hers alone.

"I love how me deciding not to continue doing LA Ink turns into [the show] being 'cancelled,'" she tweeted in August. "Thanks, TLC. Regardless of everything, I remain grateful."
